Following his time in the service, Tim worked more than twenty years for the United States Postal Service. Tim married the love of his life, Arlene Ladell Overturf, on February 4, 1961, in Biloxi, Mississippi, and to this union, three children were born. He retired from the Air Force on September 30, 1980, after twenty years of faithful service. During this time, Tim spent seven years, one month, and sixteen days overseas.
